So, I've been sort of following the 2012 election. There have been 16(I think) republican candidates anounced...and 2 democratic candidates. But what I wanted to talk about was a republican named Fred Karger. This is a direct quote from his website
The part I want to talk about is " make Gay Marriage the law of the land." I'm assuming that he wants a federal law that makes it recognized. Now depending what this law will do, I may or may not support it. If it undermines states rights and forces marriage equality onto states who have resisted in the past, then thanks but no thanks. That sets a kind of precedent I don't want. However it if simply acknowledges gay marriage in the states that acknowledge gay marriage and grants federal marriage perks to gay couples in those states, then I would back that 100%.
My other general thoughts on the election so far is that the GOP is spitballing and seeing what sticks. It's sort of interesting to watch Bachmans antics, not gonna lie. But it's all too soon to tell.
