Vacation time- for my computer

Hello. I must regrettably inform you that my computer has a cracked LCD screen. She is going on vacation to get fixed today. She'll be back soon.

In the mean time I have a ton of things to do with my week. School starts next Monday(the 24th) and I move in this Thursday(The 20th).

So yeah....I'll be back in about a week.

Post Secret Sundays

"Letting go of the woman I love in hopes she will be happier with someone else is the:
Worst, Best, Hardest

Thing I've ever done."

"I kissed a boy today who didn't wish I was someone else"

"I would take swinging on the swings over money, sex and/or power...any day."

Bonus!

The other day I was at borders- and looked through the PostSecret Books. I founded a secret in them!

For those of you that don't know Postsecret is a community art project where people send their secrets on postcards and other materials to a guy named Frank Warren. And in the PostSecret books people tend to leave their secrets in them.

So whenever I'm at a bookstore that stocks the books I check them out-even though I already own them.

Thoughts on Tony Dungy

Tony Dungy, former winning coach of the Indiana Colts, NFL team. I saw something on someones facebook today about how they were seeing him speak this coming week. Recognizing that he spoke out about his faith around the 2007(?) superbowl, and how it guided the team to victory- or something. I recognize that, but whats the big deal?

It seems to me that he was a good football coach who played the hand he was dealt well. In light of speaking out about Jesus, he's written books, and booked speaking occasions and probably made a fair bit of money in the deal. But that isn't the point either. So he played his hand well.

Take this, a single mom with two kids. She works a 40-50 hour work week and is still home most days when her kids get home from school. She feeds, and clothes them. She does Christmas and birthdays to the best of her abilities. She also helps with homework. She's also playing the hand she was dealt-and doing a damn good job. I think thats pretty damn impressive-more impressive than a cushy football coaching job, and book deals, and speaking engagements.

If we're gonna pay to hear motivational speakers like this guy talk- then why not seek out truely inspirational poeple.

Tony Dungy wrote a book called "You can do it."

Here is the amazon description,"Tony Dungy's little brother, Linden, is a third grader who is having a bad day at school. Linden is the youngest of the Dungy family and the least motivated because he hasn't found "it." In a family where everyone seems to have found their special talent, all Linden knows is that he wants to make people happy. With encouragement from his parents, a helping hand from his older brother Tony, and inspiration from God, Linden learns that if he dreams big and has faith, he can do anything! "

It doesn't tell you that Linden wants to be a dentist, who the hell grows up wanting to be a dentist? But thats not the point either. What third grader knows what they want to do for a living, I mean beyond princesses and GI Joes. If that is motivational, then where do the rest of us fall?
