"It's ok to leave. This is your sign"

So my IQ just dropped.......

I am a self admitted yahoo answers junky. And I saw this question about some kid asking if wearing a bra to bed will cause damage or injury to her boobies. And someone responded saying that it will cause breast cancer because of some uncited study she read that compared women in Africa who don't wear bras, and Americans who do. And Americans were more likely to get breast cancer just because we wear bras more. much other stuff do we do/have easier access to that African women might not....Fast food, scientific advancements, level of activity, clean water? Please the list goes on.

If I get breast cancer, I won't be attributing it to the fact that I sleep in a bra.

How do I get anything done?

Yeah so this is my and probably the rest of the week. Some things to point out. The retainer case in the third picture, has some chang in it. The Chaco shoe box on my desk, has pencils in it, and doesn't belong on my desk. The little purple bear, just kinda chills out on my desk. And I believe that there are three balls of yarn on my desk right now. You may notice a lack of chair...which if you are wondering what I sit on. It's the 3 foot tall mini dresser against the wall. In my nalgene bottle, there is a yellow splashgaurd that smiles at me. And the towel in the first picture is my roommates. Oh and notice the bag of stuffing under the desk. And in the desk organizer, you might notice some Double point needles in it. They stab me.

"Homosexuality makes some poeple happy, kinda like kinky sex, or dark chocolate. And thats why it shouldn't be discriminated against."

Roe V wade 36th Anniversary

Yesterday, January 22nd, 2009 marked the 36th anniversary of Roe V.Wade. Which is huge no matter how you look at it. I think it's good that it's still standing, but I think there is huge room for improvement.

I think as far as education and awareness goes, that there is huge room for improvement. I think there should unbiased counseling open to girls and women looking for effective birth control methods. I think there should be education in schools about sexuality and pregnancy prevention, because as it stands not every child has to take sex education. I think that sex education needs to take place in more than just schools. Parents need to talk to their kids about what they believe about sex. Parents need to actively be there for their kids, regardless of what they [the children] choose to do.

As for abortion, I think there is also room for improvement there too. I don't think that parental consent should be required to get an abortion over the age of 16.

I think that there should be required unbiased counseling before an abortion, talking through other options, and determining whether or not, abortion is the best option for them. An unplanned pregnancy is scary for everyone involved, and if a young woman goes to a clinic asking questions about abortion, she wants medical facts, not religious rhetoric. If she wants her churches opinion, she can ask her pastor.I think there should be strongly suggested counseling after the abortion. I also think that it should be a strong suggestion that all women getting an abortion, that there is someone either holding their hand during the procedure, or at the very least waiting in the waiting room.

Why do I believe this?
Because as long as old men are telling me that what I can and can't do to my body, I'll fight. My vagina, my choice. I believe this because I can't judge what the girl down the hall does with her unplanned pregnancy, because I've never been there, and hope I never am. I can't judge their choices, and unless you really can't either. Every set of circumstances is different. And besides, I would really love to keep old, fat men out of my vagina.

Today Obama signed a piece of legislature that eliminates the global gag rule, which is as far as i understand extends funding to abortion, abortion counseling, birth control, and sex ed. Which is fantastic news, because it will increase availability of effective birth control, sexual health counseling, and sex ed. Which will result in less abortions.

EDIT two:
"I'm okay with the new conversation. It's about safe sex, and keeping options open when condoms break, birth control fails, or women can't get emergency contraception when they need it. It's not about your religion, it's about my freedom. It's not about killing "babies," it's about making sure every child in this world is wanted and cared for. Sounds good to me."
I didn't write that bit. But I find it on The Peeled Apple blog. I encourage you to check it out.

WE DID IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a new president. We have a new president. You gotta smile at that, you just gotta. It's such an exciting thing. 40 years ago, black men didn't run for office, now there is a black man in the highest office of all, in the US anyway. It doesn't matter who you voted for. You have to respect and realize that this election is historic. And that history has been made.

I know a lot of poeple have been ragging on Obama and what he might do as President, but I for one can not wait to see what he does as presidency and I wish him the very best.

I'm going to say thanks that I got to play a part in this historic election, and I hope you do too. I mean for reals, we made history.

So grab a republican, (I claim Kayla), and dance. We all have a reason to dance. No excuses.

We did it. We voted for change.

So I'm going to start a new thing in my blog. My psych professor has this tendency to ramble. So today in class I started a list of what I was learning while she was rambling. Today the list including such earth shattering facts like...." Madonna does not theorize." and "Dogs will dig." I'm not sure how I'll do this. If I'll give a weekly list or a high lights reel, then post the final and complete list at the end of the semester.

Classes have started back up. Monday/Wednesday/Friday I have social problems, math, and history. and Tuesday/Thursday I have Psychology and English.

And PS It is freezing out. It is -7, but it feels like -18. I think it is ungodly. Ugh. Someone transplant me someplace warm.
