The science behind homosexuality.......

...Scares me shitless.

There is a lot of talk about the "gay" gene, and about heredity, and nuture, and all the different thoeries, most of which I don't care about.

Let's work with the theory of genetics. In the 50's and 60's homosexuality was treated as a mental illness and treated with pills and electroshock therapy...uhm yeah sounds painful. So fast-forward to when and if scientists can isolate the gay gene. They will be able to tell prenatal what children will be gay and what children will be straight. Will homosexuality be treated as a genetic defect? Thats one of my fears. You can be blind and deaf and still understand the "coming out" can be a very traumatic thing to do. Will genetic testing of the gay gene push poeple to come out before they are ready?

Ok so....Not that the science really matters...All that matters is that LGBT issues are here now, and we as a society need to deal with them now.
