psalm 91

1 He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. [a]

2 I will say [b] of the LORD, "He is my refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust."

3 Surely he will save you from the fowler's snare
and from the deadly pestilence.

4 He will cover you with his feathers,
and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.

5 You will not fear the terror of night,
nor the arrow that flies by day,

6 nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness,
nor the plague that destroys at midday.

7 A thousand may fall at your side,
ten thousand at your right hand,
but it will not come near you.

8 You will only observe with your eyes
and see the punishment of the wicked.

9 If you make the Most High your dwelling—
even the LORD, who is my refuge-

10 then no harm will befall you,
no disaster will come near your tent.

11 For he will command his angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways;

12 they will lift you up in their hands,
so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.

13 You will tread upon the lion and the cobra;
you will trample the great lion and the serpent.

14 "Because he loves me," says the LORD, "I will rescue him;
I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.

15 He will call upon me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble,
I will deliver him and honor him.

16 With long life will I satisfy him
and show him my salvation."

Yo BHunt thanks for that.

So when I was at the Casting Crowns concert a while back, all the band members got up and went down the line and prayed at one point. The youngest male of the group prayed for the young men in the audience. He said that ( and this apply to females as well) who we date, how we date, what we do with our partners now, who are are, what we believe, and what kind of poeple we are determine what kind of spouses , what kind of coworkers, and what kind of adults we will be. And I agree with him. I would however like to add onto this. Our belief systems, what we find important, what we believe about people, and how we live out those beliefs have a very direct impact on what becomes of our adult lives.

The habits I have now, will carry over through college and into adult hood. I know a boy who tends to jump from one girl to another in a matter of days, just because he needs to be with someone. He disrespects himself many times because of how he choses to date, if you can call a week long fling, "dating". He also disrespects his friends because, when he is in "relationships", whoever the lucky girl is takes first priority, rather than his friends who are always there for him. He has a tendency to settle for anything with boobs and a pulse. I think these things will negatively impact his life.

Something else I would like to add to this blog is that, I think a part of growing as people involves overcoming our insecurities rather than just letting them make our decisions for us. And growing as people is a pretty big part of "growing up". So for the above mentioned boy, I think that in order to grow up, at least in part, he will have to be ok with being single, and not need a second half. I would even suggest that he needs to be single to grow up.

They're here. they are on my feet...and they are adjusted....go me.

Casting Crowns -Slow Fade

Casting Crowns
Slow Fade
The Alter and the Door

Be careful little eyes what you see
It's the second glance that ties your hands as darkness pulls the strings
Be careful little feet where you go
For it's the little feet behind you that are sure to follow

It's a slow fade when you give yourself away
It's a slow fade when black and white have turned to gray
Thoughts invade, choices are made, a price will be paid
When you give yourself away
People never crumble in a day
It's a slow fade, it's a slow fade

Be careful little ears what you hear
When flattery leads to compromise, the end is always near
Be careful little lips what you say
For empty words and promises lead broken hearts astray

It's a slow fade when you give yourself away
It's a slow fade when black and white have turned to gray
Thoughts invade, choices are made, a price will be paid
When you give yourself away
People never crumble in a day

The journey from your mind to your hands
Is shorter than you're thinking
Be careful if you think you stand
You just might be sinking

It's a slow fade when you give yourself away
It's a slow fade when black and white have turned to gray
Thoughts invade, choices are made, a price will be paid
When you give yourself away
People never crumble in a day
Daddies never crumble in a day
Families never crumble in a day

Oh be careful little eyes what see
Oh be careful little eyes what you see
For the Father up above is looking down in love
Oh be careful little eyes what you see

God, this song is so true. I love it, you should too.

God, I love my friends.

Sunday, May 11, 2008

So it's 11:15 here and I need to go to bed soon but want to leave you kids with a few quotes and some back story for them.

" Run to God. And if you can't run to God, jog to god. If you can't jog to God, walk to God. If you can't walk to God, crawl to God. If you can't crawl to God, fall to Him."

I heard this during a sermon once, a sermon said by Saint Adam, and it has just really stuck with me. Something that I have remembered ever since.

"You're stronger than you think"
"God made us to feel, all emotions, not just the good ones"

These were both said to me at camp one night by JE. And they just really struck a chord. I'm not sure exactly why. They just did.

Night night

Busy Busy Busy me

Where do I even start?
Last weekend was prom. And it was great. I had my hair done on saturday and my nails done on friday and my eyebrows done on thursday. I'll be posting pictures as soon as I upload or get the disk of them, whichever happens first.

After prom we went back to my house and picked up willis and bethany on the way. We had a kicking bonfire til about 3:30 am cept dani and bethers went inside at around 2, weaklings. Bethany slept in the extra bed and dani took the couch and willis has the option of the floor, the couch in the basement or the hammock.

This week has been mostly uneventfull. I finished nightclass, and now I just have to get everything in. ahah. I took the final and I know that I got at least an 8% percent right on it. This weekend I am going to a fiber festival in fort wayne. Go me.

On bad news. Hilary won Indiana. and that's bad, because she is bad. She only won by two percent though. But she lost north carolina, and thats good. And Obama is now ahead in super delagates. YAY! Here is the story if you is interested.

OH NO! Gary Dourdan, aka Warrick Brown of CSI has been charged with possesion. This could be bad news for the only good CSI out there. Here is that story.

Something else I have recently discovered is a game. It's called Virtual Villagers. It's really quite addicting. When I get my own computer, cause the one I use at home is dying, I will hardcore consider buying it.

I must go now. Byebye friends
